CompetencyLog is for trainee accountants doing articles under SAICA's CA2025 programme. You log what you did, it finds the learning outcomes that work evidences, and it drafts your learning outcome review (LOR) or professional development summary (PDS) for you to check.

How it works

  1. Log your work. Type a line, upload your Excel log, or talk through your month.
  2. Confirm what it evidences. The professional values, attitudes and acumens (PVAAs) and technical competencies from the CA2025 catalogue, each one yours to keep or drop.
  3. Get a draft laid out the way the assessment tool asks for it. Every box is editable, and each acumen comes with the questions its rating turns on.

What it is not

It helps you prepare. Your reviewer and SAICA make every decision about your progress, and you submit in SAICA's own assessment tool. CompetencyLog is not part of SAICA and is not endorsed by it.

Do I need an account?

No. You can log work and draft a review signed out. Sign in with an emailed link to keep your log between visits and get AI suggestions for your technical outcomes.

Where does my work go?

The line checker and the built-in patterns run here and send nothing. Signed in, entries the patterns cannot place are sent to an AI service to be mapped. Nothing goes to SAICA or to your firm.

Which outcomes does it use?
